Frequently asked questions

Capture, consent, data security, and pricing — answered directly.

Product

What does Clinshot actually do? +

It guides clinical photo capture with a live overlay of the previous photo of the same pose, checks framing level and lighting automatically, and stores every session on a chronological timeline you can compare across visits.

Does it work on any phone? +

Yes — it runs in the browser and can be installed as a PWA on any modern phone or tablet, no app store needed.

Capture

What is the ghost overlay? +

The previous photo of the same pose is shown semi-transparent over the live camera feed, so you can match the exact angle and framing before you shoot.

What happens without wifi? +

Photos queue in an offline buffer on the device and sync automatically once connectivity returns.

Consent & compliance

Can I capture without a signed consent? +

No — capture is physically blocked until an active photo-storage consent exists for that patient.

How does the remote consent link work? +

A one-time, expiring link is sent to the patient's own phone, typically over WhatsApp; they review and sign the exact template text themselves, no account needed.

Data & security

Is patient data encrypted? +

Yes. Patient details are encrypted, and photos are never public — only people with the right permission can open them.

Who can see a patient's photos? +

Only members of that clinic who have the right permission — nobody from another clinic can ever see them.

Pricing

Do I need a credit card to start? +

No — sign-up is free and immediate, and there is currently no payment step at all.

What is an active patient? +

Any patient record that has not been archived.

Getting started

How long does setup take? +

Sign up, and your clinic already has ready-made protocols for aesthetic surgery, dermatology, hair transplant, and dental — you can capture your first photo within minutes.

Can I invite my team? +

Yes — invite teammates by email and assign them a role and granular permissions from your clinic settings.
